Questions to past winners:
1. What are your thoughts now that Rift Cup is 10 years old?
Just wish I could make it to more of the tourneys. It's pretty amazing how big it's become. I had really hoped to make it back to play this year but it didn't work with the expected due date of our next child. We'd love to have it come to the Rift Valley Lodge here in Kenya one year!
2. How long have you played golf?
Since I was 7 or 8, so approximately 27 years. My grandparents taught me how to play on visits to see them in Kansas. Then in high school in Kenya my dad would take me out to Muthaiga Golf Club fairly frequently. That's when I really grew to love golf.
3. How many RVC have you attended?
Since the cup became official, only one in 2000. But I'll caveat this by noting that I played with some of the founding members (Kili, Guru, Freshi) in the forefather to the RVC in Myrtle Beach back in 1993 and 1994.
4. Where is your favorite golf course?
That is a tough call...I'd probably have to say Muthaiga here in Nairobi, mostly to do with the history I have with it. But Manny Belete has exposed me to some pretty stunning courses that include the Byron Nelson course in Las Colinas and Congressional - those are pretty hard to beat.
5. What is your most memorable event at the cup?
I don't know how the accommodation is now, but I'll never forget thinking that there had to be a better way than all of us shacking up in a small condo! I remember pulling up to it from the drive from DC and coming in to a fridge stocked to the point of busting with Heineken and Gidi handing me a beer saying "Welcome to Myrtle Beach Shepo!"
6. Please finish this statement: If the Rift Cup got green jackets I would...
