Rift Valley Cup Champion 2003 - Tim Casey
||T.J. and Justin
||(Gold) Club Professional
||Glen Allen, VA (U.S.)
|Questions to past winners:
|1. What are your thoughts now that Rift Cup is 10 years old?
||It's hard to believe the Cup has gone from it's humble beginnings to a
full blown social extravaganza. Freshie and Gid are incredible
organizers who have followed through with their vision of bringing
together guys from different cultures to experience fellowship and
connection. It is an event that will change you, if you allow it.
|2. How long have you played golf?
||Started my grip-and-rip routine at age 16.
|3. How many RVC have you attended?
||RVC VI through RVC IX.
|4. Where is your favorite golf course?
||That's a tough one. The challenges of Pinehurst No. 2, Doral's Blue
Monster, and TPC Scottsdale were immense, but for the pure beauty
(course and scenery), I would go with Sedona Golf Resort. Locally,
however, I love playing Mattaponi Springs.
|5. What is your most memorable event at the cup?
||For me, it's the Flying Dutchmen and the Saturday afternoon rounds ("Jim
make me strong, but Jack has a short game."). To limit it to a single
event, however, would not do justice to the Cup - We should not forget
the four-ball salute at Carsten's Pond. How about Enoch walking through
the screen door? Foxy's colorful comments and Gid's reactions? Killa's
knockout blow to the senior Casey? The uprising created by the proposed
handicap system? The Dutchmen's thongs? The e-mail banter? The Don
waxing poetic? Foreskin's realization that this wasn't a golf
tournament, but so much more? The glow created by Smilin' Will? Or
Johnnie Cochran tearing up when true sportsmanship was displayed between
two competitors? The friendships and memories that are formed at the
Cup are priceless and everlasting.
|6. Please finish this statement: If the Rift Cup got green jackets I would...
Object and demand that they be ORANGE!!!!!!
